About Anpetu-We Lodge

 Anpetu‑We Lodge, founded in 1956 and rooted in the traditions of Camp Lewallen, is the Order of the Arrow lodge serving Southeast Missouri and Southern Illinois within the Greater St. Louis Area Council. Its name, meaning “rising sun”, honors the legacy of the earlier Golden Sun Honor Society that shaped local Scouting culture before the OA was nationally endorsed. Today, Anpetu‑We Lodge remains a vibrant, youth‑led brotherhood known for its strong service to Camp Lewallen and Pine Ridge Scout Camp, its energetic reunions and fellowships, and its distinctive turtle totem—symbolizing steadfastness, tradition, and cheerful service.

About Camp Lewallen

Camp Lewallen, nestled in the rolling hills of Silva, Missouri along the St. Francis River, is one of the Greater St. Louis Area Council’s most iconic and beloved Scout camps. Since opening in 1936, it has offered generations of Scouts a rugged, scenic setting for adventure—towering pines, rocky bluffs, and a waterfront perfect for swimming, boating, and quiet reflection. Known for its rich traditions, spirited summer camp programs, and deep ties to Anpetu‑We Lodge of the Order of the Arrow, Camp Lewallen blends classic Scouting heritage with modern outdoor experiences, creating a place where youth discover confidence, camaraderie, and a lifelong love of the outdoors.
